Jill and Chris welcome you to the peaceful Sylvan Grove Guest House which has been running successfully for over 12 years in Umhlanga Rocks - arguably the finest holiday resort town in South Africa.  With extensive knowledge and experience in Umhlanga Rocks and Kwa-Zulu Natal, Jill and Chris prove to be wonderful hosts upon your journey in the textural East Coast of South Africa.

Sylvan Grove Guest House is set in a tranquil, tropical garden with prolific bird life and overlooks the Indian Ocean. We offer affordable accommodation for the discerning business and holiday traveler. Although just 10 minutes drive North of the Durban CBD and the International Convention Centre, the Guesthouse is set away from the hustle and bustle of the busy beachfront and is the perfect retreat in which to relax.

Location

Situated 10 minutes north of the Durban CBD and International Convention Centre, 30 minutes drive from Durban International Airport, about 2 minutes drive from the Gateway Shopping and Entertainment Centre and easy access to the Umhlanga and La Lucia Business Parks. The area has become an even hotter travel ticket with the opening of the brilliantly created Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom and the awe-inspiring uShaka Marine World.

Umhlanga and Durban has a warm sub-tropical climate for most of the year, and has a vast array of activities on offer to travellers, sports enthusiasts and business people. Golf, tennis, bowls, gym and health clubs, horse riding, nature walks, deep sea fishing, scuba diving and micro light flying are all activities which are located close to Sylvan Grove.

Accommodation

Our bedrooms are en-suite, comfortable, spacious, tastefully decorated & all are air-conditioned. You will find our rooms to be fitted with all conveniences; Tea & coffee making facilities, telephones, and multi channel TV, radios, fans and fully stocked bar fridges. Sylvan Grove is fully licensed.

There is also a guest lounge where you can play an evenings game of chess,  relax with a good book in an atmosphere of peace and quiet or surf the net at the "Guest" internet station.
