Description

Harrow Hill is an elegantly furnished English style country home. Quiet, peaceful and full of interesting books and antiques. 4 bedrooms with full bathrooms, having separate large showers. 2 sitting rooms with log fires in winter. Visitors are treated as friends.

Ideal getaway or stopover from Guateng (4½ hours) to the coast. Near the N3 and within easy reach of Durban and the Drakensberg mountains. 3km from Howick on the Karkloof Road (tar road) close to Umgeni Valley Nature Reserve, Amberglen, Midmar Dam, Midlands Meander, canopy tours and 4 golf courses.

Relax in the large garden by the pool, play tennis or watch the cows and zebras grazing. Lovely walks and bird watching.

English or continental breakfasts served at times to suit guests. Other meals on request. Excellent restaurants nearby.

 Accommodation

Harrow Hill Farm Guesthouse has four large air-conditioned bedrooms with either a queen size or two single beds; full bathrooms with separate showers, two guest sitting rooms, interesting books and antiques.  Visitors are treated as friends. 

There are hair dryers, air-conditioners, fans and heaters provided in the rooms.  In addition, there is also a laundry service is available to guests.

There are 2 sitting rooms, one with DSTV  for the cricket and rugby fans. Log fires in winter and at any excuse!  We offer early morning tea and coffee in lovely old china cups and silver teapots.

Harrow Hill Guest Farm is in close proximity to a host of exciting activities to suit the tastes of the whole family. Midmar Dam and Nature Reserve, Umgeni Valley Nature Reserve and Karkloof Falls all provide wonderful days out in the open, with boating, skiing, fishing, game viewing, and picturesque spots for braais and picnics.

The Midlands Meander is the heart of the arts and crafts community of the Midlands and along its trail you will come across artists, potters, restaurants, studios and galleries to mention just a few. Explore the Karkloof indigenous forest from a different angle with Karkloof Canopy Tours whose fabulous canopy tours provide a look at the forest from above.

There are several Golf courses in the area, including Sakabula Golf Club, Howick Golf Course, Victoria Country Club and Boschoek Golf Club. Hiking trails and horse riding can be arranged and of course what better way to see the scenic views than on bike?

Directions

From Johannesburg From the N3 take the 107 off ramp to Howick North. Turn left at the 4th robot into Karkloof Road. The farm is 4km on a tar road from corner in Howick on the right hand side. From Durban From the N3 take the 617 off ramp to Howick. When in Howick turn right at 3rd robot into Karkloof Road. The farm is 4 km on a tar road from Howick on the right hand side.
